We Fest announces 2027 summer lineup

MINNEAPOLIS — One longtime Nashville favorite, one newly famous TV star and one of country music’s hottest outlier bands top the decidedly mixed lineup for We Fest 2027.
Tim McGraw, Riley Green and the Red Clay Strays will headline the just-unveiled roster for the country-music campout’s next installment, scheduled Aug. 4-7 in Detroit Lakes.
Minnesota’s longest running major music festival — started in 1983 — was once again the first big regional fest to announce its summer lineup.
Other artists include Sam Barber, Russell Dickerson, Dustin Lynch, Midland, Ole 60, Waylon Wyatt, Braxton Keith, Neal McCoy and Tracy Byrd. If you look far down the bro-heavy card, you’ll also spot a few women on the schedule, including Kassi Ashton, Sela Campbell and vocal trio Just Jayne.
We Fest organizers unveiled the roster ahead of Friday's on-sale date for tickets and camping packages via wefest.com. Three-day general admission tickets start at $169. Other options include reserved seat passes ($381-$535) and VIP passes ($674-$1,610). Camping passes range from $137-$725 and can be purchased with tickets in various cost-saving bundles.
Last year, We Fest faced extra competition with the launch of the Minnesota Country Club festival in St. Paul, an offshoot of the Minnesota Yacht Club fest (both set to return in 2027).
This year, We Fest is bringing in one of Country Club’s headliners, the Red Clay Strays, as one of its top names. It’s also tapping into a similarly TikTok-fueled vein of non-mainstream country music acts known to draw younger fans, including Sam Barber, Ole 60 and Waylon Wyatt — the latter of whom is swinging through Minnesota to play First Avenue on Oct. 10.
To further allure a younger and less mainstream subset of country fans, We Fest is launching a bluegrass-flavored side stage called the Fiddler’s Den, located inside its Neon Saloon.
Traditional Nashville music fans will still get their fix, though. McGraw will make his first We Fest appearance since 2016, coming off of this past summer’s show at Target Field with the Chicks. Green is a big get for the festival, too. He has gone from a recent favorite on country-music radio stations — with hits like “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” and the Ella Langley collaboration “Don’t Mind If I Do” — to a primetime TV star spinning in the coaches’ chairs on NBC’s “The Voice.”
Lineup announcements for the Minnesota Country and Yacht Club festivals are not expected until December at the earliest. Organizers of Lakefront Music fest in Prior Lake confirmed their 2027 headliners already, with Train topping its rock roster on July 9 and Jon Pardi its country night on July 10.
