Actress Kate Beckinsale alarmed fans Sunday with two bleak, soon-deleted Instagram posts, one saying simply, “Bye,” and the other declaring, “Congratulations you won. I give up,” according to multiple reports.

“Bye” was in lower-case white letters on a pitch-black background, and the second message was written across a picture of a rainbow arching over a road at an intersection, according to screenshots obtained by TMZ.

After sharing the cryptic messages on Sunday, the 53-year-old Beckinsale appeared to have wiped her account clean yet again. The only thing remaining was a link in her bio to a BBC News story about the suicide of a “Love Island” presenter in Britain amid scathing social media criticism.

Some of Beckinsale’s 5.3 million followers took to social media urging a welfare check. The “Pearl Harbor” and “Underworld” actress’s reps were not commenting as of Sunday afternoon, and both the posts and Beckinsale’s situation remained a mystery.

She had wiped her Instagram clean in August after comments about her appearance flooded her posts. Before doing so, she shared dozens of the negative comments in her Instagram stories, including those from three years earlier, when she had debunked plastic surgery rumors by revealing a devastating autoimmune disorder. She was also open about struggling in the wake of the death of her mother, British actress Judy Loe, in 2025.

The star had similarly deleted her posts in February save for an image declaring, “You Win,” TMZ reported at the time. Her stories were rife with screenshots of search results related to abuse, hidden cameras, privacy violations and cyberstalking, TMZ reported.

Earlier this month, Beckinsale briefly posted about post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and how people who “have seen or experienced levels of horror, terror, violence” don’t “just dream about [it] incessantly” but also see it “every time they close their eyes for a second.” She appealed to the public to “err on being on the gentler side with people, being kinder with people.” She deleted that as well.
