Dolly Parton continues to share her voice with fans, even after her death.

Parton will be featured on an upcoming all-star tribute album titled “Where the Soul Never Dies: Celebrating 80 Years of The Stanley Brothers.” Both Parton and the band First Ladies of Bluegrass collaborated on the 1964 track “Bound to Ride,” which was released this week as the album’s first single, marking the Queen of Country’s first posthumous song.

Parton recorded her vocals for the track in 2022, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Rolling Stone reported. For health and safety reasons, she worked on the song alone in her own personal studio, with a backing track already laid out for her by the First Ladies of Bluegrass.

The album is also set to include vocals by Willie Nelson and Sierra Ferrell, Dierks Bentley with Della Mae, as well as Steve Martin and Ed Helms, among others. It is scheduled to release Oct. 16 through Compass Records.

Parton’s nephew, Bryan Seaver, announced her death in a video shared to Instagram on Aug. 25. She had a “brief battle” with cancer and was 80 years old.

“Dolly departed her Earthly life today at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center surrounded by loved ones,” Parton’s reps said in a statement to multiple news outlets.

“Our beloved Dolly Parton spent her life and career bringing joy, laughter, hope and integrity into everything she touched,” it continued. “Her unmatched generosity reached the lives of countless people whom she would never meet, yet she was always there to offer a helping hand.”

Parton’s longtime manager Danny Nozell has since revealed she was working on a several projects prior to her death.

“Dolly worked up until the day she died. She loved seeing her dreams come to life, and loved knowing her work brought people joy,” Nozell told Today. “Ever the planner, Dolly worked with the team that she handpicked, for the past several years to build a project roadmap that will guide us for decades to come.”
