Kimberly Guilfoyle claimed 'everyone at Fox News wanted to sleep with her'

Since Donald Trump unceremoniously asked Kimberly Guilfoyle to resign from her post as U.S. ambassador to Greece, because her corruption scandal apparently proved too much for even him to ignore, people have felt emboldened to air their grievances against the former first lady of San Francisco-turned conservative firebrand, who brazenly sought to become one of the most powerful, influential people in the president’s inner circle.

“I can’t tell you the number of people who have insane stories about this woman,” writes Kennedy, the Daily Mail columnist who went to work for Fox News a couple decades after becoming famous as an MTV VJ in the 1990s.

For the Daily Mail, Kennedy wrote that she met Guilfoyle when she started working at Fox News in 2012. At the time, Kennedy said, the former San Francisco prosecutor was a rising star at the network run by powerful Fox Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes. Guilfoyle had started at Fox in 2006, after leaving San Francisco and her marriage to then-Mayor Gavin Newsom to initially find TV fame as a legal analyst and then as a political commentator for the network.

But Kennedy said she came to believe that her colleague, who would go on to date and become engaged to Donald Trump Jr. during his father’s first term, was manipulative, unrelentingly narcissistic and a “status-chasing monster.” Among other things, Kennedy described Guilfoyle, who said she worked as a lingerie model to pay her way through law school, as constantly concerned about being seen as sexually desirable.

“Kimberly claimed to me — and whomever else was within earshot — that just about everyone at Fox News was in love with her and wanted to sleep with her, especially the women,” Kennedy wrote.

Guilfoyle initially tried to curry favor with her by agreeing with her when she said that Newsom, her ex-husband, “is a douchebag.” Guilfoyle responded: “I love you and now I know why.”

Guilfoyle appeared to try to get closer to Kennedy by greeting her one night at her apartment, answering the door in just a black, push-up corset and thigh-high stockings. Kennedy said she was just meeting Guilfoyle there so they could catch an Uber together to a mutual friend’s birthday party.

“You like what you see?” Kennedy said Guilfoyle asked her.

Guilfoyle’s alleged habit of discussing sexual matters at work, and her revealing mode of dress in front of colleagues — or of reportedly not wearing anything at all — became an issue several years later when she was accused of sexual misconduct and harassment by a former assistant. Guilfoyle has long denied the misconduct allegations.

But according to reports by HuffPost and The New Yorker, the allegations led to Guilfoyle abruptly leaving the network in 2018. This was two years after her mentor, Ailes, resigned after multiple women, including Megyn Kelly and Gretchen Carlson, accused him of sexual harassment. When Guilfoyle left Fox News, the popular explanation offered for her departure was that she wanted to avoid conflicts of interest posed by her growing romance with Trump Jr.

But The New Yorker reported in 2020 that Fox News paid the former assistant up to $4 million to avoid going to trial over the misconduct claims. The New Yorker report also detailed some of the lurid allegations against Guilfoyle, citing the assistant’s 42-page draft complaint. The complaint said Guilfoyle “encouraged (the assistant) to sleep with wealthy and powerful men, asked her to critique her naked body, demanded that she share a room with her on business trips, required her to sleep over at her apartment, and exposed herself to her, making her feel deeply uncomfortable.”

From Kennedy’s account, it sounds as though her experience with Guilfoyle wasn’t so harrowing. But she said she was present when Guilfoyle showed colleagues lewd photos of male genitalia — similar to claims described in The New Yorker and HuffPost reports.

At one point, Kennedy said Guilfoyle was dating a wealthy man who like to shower her with gifts. She also was delighted he had a black American Express credit card that she showed Kennedy and several others friends photos of the card’s front and page, and matched each of those photos with images of her lover’s private parts.

An American Express card has since become an important feature of Guilfoyle’s downfall. Calls for her to resign grew last week after The Wall Street published a report on Oct. 7, citing claims by Eric Deters, a prominent former MAGA donor, that Guilfoyle begged him to pay her $100,000 Amex bill ahead of her July 2025 Senate hearing to be confirmed as U.S. ambassador. Deters said Guilfoyle promised to help get him access to Trump officials who could help him with some legal and IRS business but she “didn’t do squat.”

The Wall Street Journal and the Daily Mail had already published reports saying that Guilfoyle had allegedly been using her position for personal gain and engaged in alleged misconduct, in order to enjoy a lavish lifestyle while working for the U.S. government.

Journalist Yashar Ali, who wrote the 2018 HuffPost story about the Fox News sexual misconduct allegations, responded to the Journal’s report about Guilfoyle’s credit card bill by noting on X that sources told him she was always talking to colleagues at the network about either sex or about “money, money, money.” Ali’s HuffPost story also said she “panicked” at the prospect of having to leave her job at Fox News because she would lose influence and her lucrative salary.

In addition to her alleged misconduct at Fox News, Politico reported in 2020 that Guilfoyle became “an H.R. nightmare” as a high-profile fundraiser for Trump. After Guilfoyle and Trump Jr. started dating, they became an in-demand duo at Trump campaign events, known as “the prom king and queen of MAGA land.”

But Politico reported that “some donors were horrified by what they described as Guilfoyle’s lack of professionalism. She frequently joked about her sex life and at one fundraiser, offered a lap dance to the donor who gave the most money.” Guilfoyle also became known walking on stage, doing a sexy dance at campaign events — or backstage at Trump’s Jan. 6, 2021, rally ahead of the riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Kennedy sums up her piece on Guilfoyle by pondering a question that many have asked: “How has she survived this long?” Kennedy then asks: “Is she a soulless opportunist whose life is one big hustle, a bedazzled con-artist who simply brachiates from one mark to the next, hoping eventually she hits the jackpot?”

Kennedy said it remains to be seen “if this frisky cat has finally exhausted all her nine lives.” If the Democrats win control of the House of Representatives in the midterms, Kennedy said they will probably call for Guilfoyle to “tell all.”

“She has made herself a laughably easy target,” Kennedy said. But she also gives Guilfoyle credit for resourcefulness. “But for now, I wouldn’t count her out,” she said.
