Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Thursday he had “a very good conversation” with U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, with an aim toward ending Russia’s war against Ukraine.

“We discussed certain substantive details of the ongoing work,” Ukraine’s president said Thursday in a post on X. “There are good ideas that can work toward a shared outcome and the lasting peace.”

Zelenskyy thanked Witkoff and Kushner, President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, for a “constructive approach” and “intensive work” and said he hoped the discussions would mark another step toward peace in the conflict.

The White House didn’t immediately return a request for comment on Zelenskyy’s post.

The Kremlin is reviewing information delivered to President Vladimir Putin by his envoy Kirill Dmitriev after weekend talks with the U.S. in Miami, spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russian media on Thursday.
